Well what a weekend. The life of a cake decorator. While your home sweating over making that beautiful cake your family and friends are out enjoying themselves. so then why do it. Because we love it that's why. I may have only had three cakes, to some businesses that's a quiet weekend, from literally Thursday through to Sunday morning your main focus is on these cakes and god help anyone if you disrupt the schedule as it throws your timing off and at times your are finishing the cake 2 minutes before its due for pick up.

I love the variety you can do...look at this weekend, and Instagram theme cake, My little Pony and then this grand three tier wedding cake. No dramas this weekend except the weather here in Perth. what is with that? It's winter but not normally not like this...rain..rain..rain, hail wind cold...seriously Perth whats going on? Minutes before I am scheduled arrive to deliver and set up this wedding cake it starts raining.....raining ...and raining HEAVY...oh my goodness how am I going to get this cake out of the cake without getting wet. Fortunately the rain subsided and I was able to grab men with muscles to carry in the boxes and its time to set up.

This three tier cake was a first for me with the old style pillars. Not many brides ask for this style of cake any more. so you need to make sure your supports are perfect...lucky for me it all worked. And I LOVE it...really happy with the finished product and I heard from the bride was happy so this is why we do it.

The life of a cake decorator is making other peoples celebrations memorable and cake is part of that.
